It is a start :)

- This is my new attempt to keep track of the many wonderful and crazy changes going on in my life... which is pretty much mine and Garrit's life already, even though we will only be officially married on May, 26, 2009. Please bear (?) with me because I am new to this whole online blogging thing.
- I have had a really nice last few days, celebrating Christmas with my family here in Highland, Utah. The weather definitely made sure we had a white Christmas. There is so much snow here, and it was actually fun going out to shovel snow with my dad after we opened presents yesterday. I really enjoyed the whole of Christmas day, but I particularly enjoyed the annual presentation of Christmas Eve traditions of the Bentley household. Many of these traditions are on a must-be-family to know basis, but the night was rounded out by sitting down with my family and actually talking about Christ and how this Christmas has been different. It has been a long time since A. I had heard my family members share their testimonies and feelings of Christ, and B. I had shared my own feelings about my savior. Garrit and I have made so many changes in our life this year, as we prepare to go to the temple, which have led the spirit to be a much more constant in our lives. It was so nice to be able to share my feelings regarding the presence of the spirit I feel so much more often now and the gratitude I have for my Savior for making it even possible for me to fix things in my life.
- Christmas Day was a fun one. It is still fun to watch Will and Daniel open their presents because they are still excited about Santa... Will a lot more than Daniel, as i think Daniel has learned the truth of the origin of presents on Christmas morning :) But besides the many wonderful presents I received, it was just a great day spent with family and full of fun and love.
- Also, a very happy birthday to my best friends in the world, Alyssa- who's birthday is on Christmas day- and Emily- who's birthday was on Christmas Eve.
- The only downside to this Christmas was the fact that Garrit and I did not get to spend it together. We both felt it was important to spend one last Christmas as kids with our families, but that does not mean it was hard not to be with the person I love most. I am counting down the hours til he comes back to freezing Utah... 21 hours to go!
- I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and that the joy and special spirit of the season will continue into the New Year... crazy that it is almost 2009!
